Without that contact, it will be difficult for them to move your teeth the way they are intended to. If you find that your aligners aren’t fitting correctly and popping up in the back, here are a few tricks you can try to make them go on and stay on!

Use Your Chew Sticks

Chew sticks were designed to help you complete the chewing exercises that help your teeth move according to schedule. They can also be used to bite down on when you can’t get your aligners to stay on. Just place them in your mouth and bite, moving them along your arches until the aligner is tight to your teeth!

Right on Time

Be sure to wear your aligners for the proper amount of time: 22 hours a day. Not wearing them for the proper amount of time could cause your progress to stall and could make your aligners stop fitting properly or your new set not fit at all. To help get your treatment back on track, be sure to always wear your aligners as prescribed.

Go Back

There is a chance that your dentist could recommend you switch back to your previous set of aligners to help give your teeth a chance to get back on schedule, however, do not backtrack your treatment without dentist approval.

Remember, your Invisalign aligners are supposed to fit tightly to your teeth. If you notice that they are not staying on or fitting properly, try a bite stick, or speak to your dentist about the next steps!

About Our Practice

At Annigan Dental, we designed our state-of-the-art office with you in mind.
